Feed Media client, Chef Troy Guard, was recently featured in The Denver Post for his growing culinary empire. In the next nine months, Guard will open five new restaurants from RiNo to Stapleton.

Guard opened his first restaurant, TAG, on Larimer Street in 2009 after building his reputation at Nine75 and Ocean. Guard had also worked under acclaimed chefs Roy Yamaguchi and Richard Sandoval. Larimer Associates CEO Jeff Hermanson recruited Guard to open a Larimer Square outpost where “local ingredients are combined into classic and contemporary dishes.”

TAG was on the brink of closing despite being popular with diners. Guard took some business lessons from Hermanson to turn things around. TAG soon became one of the “most profitable” restaurants on the block and, earlier this year, Guard received the 2016 Small Business Person of the Year award from the Small Business Council of America.

Blending his culinary talents and business acumen, Guard will add five restaurants to his local empire in the coming months:

– Mr. Tuna, RiNo, July 2016

– Bubu, Republic Plaza, September 2016

– Los Chingones, Stapleton, October 2016

– Unnamed breakfast restaurant, Stapleton, October 2016

– TAG Burger Bar or tavern, Highland, February 2017

We’re excited to see what else Guard has in store for the Denver culinary scene. Stay tuned!
